Role Description

IBA is seeking an Engagement Manager in the Nordics for a highly influential role responsible for the complete new business, post-sale success and satisfaction of a portfolio of IBA Clients in the Nordics. Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, the Engagement Director will identify new opportunities in the Nordic territory and lead a bid team to close new deals. The Engagement Director will leverage company-wide resources to address any customer satisfaction, growth opportunity or risk in the territory client portfolio.

The Engagement Director is responsible for maintaining a strategic proactive relationship through all phases of the customer lifecycle with clients. This role builds and maintains a trusted advisor relationship with the Client Executive Team, ensuring that the customer success is our success, and exploring new avenues for business, while acting as the key governing role of the commercial agreements between IBA and the Client.

Our Client Engagement Directors are expected to possess knowledge, expertise, and experience in Software-as-a-Service business models, the insurance business domain, account management, customer relationship building, and program and project management. Our sales and engagement team drives commercial negotiations as a Customer advocate and business partner.

Further, as part of a Head Quarter function, this role will also be responsible for managing the process of developing the product/price book of the IBA Service Portfolio. In this function, you will be responsible for setting up the practice and processes concerning design, development and implementation of IBA service definitions and pricing. With a solid background in understanding insurance industry margins and channels, you can effectively support the VP, Sales and Marketing and IBA’s executive management with the articulation of efficient pricing schemes and competitive deal pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Primary ownership and accountability for ensuring new-logo business, customer growth, satisfaction, and retention within the assigned territory and accounts
  • Identify, develop, and recognize new opportunities for new logo as well as expanding existing Customers’ business volume
  • Lead deal teams to successful close of opportunities
  • Develop strong relationships with all key decision makers and influencers of IBA clients
  • Build, maintain and execute on account plans for each assigned account and coordinate appropriate internal domain experts for delivery and operations to provide engagement-, consultative-, and operational services
  • Uncover and mitigate any risk that threatens your Customers’ growth, satisfaction, or renewal; conceive and execute risk mitigation plans
  • Close incremental revenue, timely payment and secure long-term renewals
  • Ensure ongoing adoption by the customers’ user groups
  • Act as the liaison between Product Management and the Customer with a focus on feature collaboration and communicating the IBSuite roadmap
  • Build a solid base of referenceable customer contacts within your assigned portfolio
  • Manage Account P&L, report metrics, own Customer Satisfaction and variance explanations/actions.
  • Own all primary Customer communication and resolve escalations with autonomy related to the services provided by IBA including Governance procedures
  • Oversee and orchestrate customer communication and interactions concerning:
    • demand and supply processes
    • Performance management
    • Service level management
    • Financials management
    • Resource Management
    • assignments, on/off boarding of IBA resources
  • Developing and maintaining a product/price book

Qualifications

  • 5-plus years of professional experience with at least 3 years of experience in SaaS/enterprise software Account Management or Client Services managing multi-million dollar portfolios of recurring revenue
  • Insurance industry experience and knowledge with a solid understand of the value chain and processes
  • Exposure to the development, execution, and overview of account plans for top tier Customers
  • Experience with insurance core systems preferred
  • Exposure to B2B SaaS models from the vendor side, including commercial contracts
  • Strong command stature / executive presence at the C-Suite level; demonstrated ability to seamlessly participate in discussions with business and technical leadership
  • Experience working with distributed, co-located teams required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and in-person and virtual presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively across functions as part of team in a matrixed environment
  • Success working in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment with a rapidly growing company
  • Some experience in commercial contract negotiations
  • Bachelors’ degree in a related field required
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time

Munich Re Digital Partner was established when digitalization was beginning to change the face of the insurance industry. Insurance start-ups are experimenting with countless types of business models, with multiple degreed of vertical integration. Start-ups in the other sectors are creating new risks for consumers or new ways for consumers to interact with the insurance industry. These new start-ups are mainly built on a front-end, which is heavily based on digital technology, offering MRDP the opportunity to closely collaborate with the insurance start-ups and digital verticals as new business partners. Through helping them develop and scale their insurance business, we build a sustainable revenue stream for Munich Re.  We aim to build a portfolio of digital business models, and tap into new growth opportunities.

Role Description

The MRDP Client Engagement Director is responsible for maintaining a strategic proactive relationship through all phases of the customer lifecycle with Munich Re Division, MRDP. This role builds and maintains a consultative business relationship with the MRDP Executive Team, exploring new avenues for business with MRDP, while acting as the key governing role of the commercial agreements between IBA and MRDP.

This role will require a person with strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships in a liaison role with the IBA Team personnel at all levels. Working independently and with a strong motivation to nurture and expand the commercial relationship between MRDP and IBA.

You will act as primary point of contact/liaison for MRDP, to engage in new partner projects, sales and scoping of new projects, issue resolution mediation, related to the daily operations.

Additional responsibilities will include communicating and governing delivery of the day-to-day operational aspects of the customer relationship, conduct Governance Steering Committee meetings, Monthly Business Reviews, Pipeline Meetings, Handover meetings, communication of reporting and analysis, driving SLA adherence, working with the IBA Team to manage priorities and expectations, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and to MRDP’s satisfaction.
